And I found a tool that will help make it much easier for you!  BLOGLOVIN makes it easy for you to read all of your blogs in one place, no need for 30 different web browsers to be open.

Are you ready for WordPress 3.2?

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

WordPress 3.2 is available.  We recommend that you update as soon as you know if your major plugins (Wish List Member) are compatible with the new version.

Before you update you should do a backup of:

  • Your Database
  • Theme Files
  • Premium Plugins (ex: Wish List Member)

The largest technical change to WordPress 3.2 is that your WordPress hosting must be a minimum of PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0.   Before you click upgrade check with your hosting company or you may use the plugin from WordPress called Health Check to see what your site is currently running.

Do not upgrade if you don’t meet the requirements.

The new version of WordPress also comes with a new default theme called Twenty Eleven.  This is a nice clean theme that is robust and will look great on a mobile device as well as a monitor.

The feature we like the best is the Distraction Free Writing Mode.  When you go to the fullscreen mode of the Post Editor you will see less features and distractions.  For many this will give you the opportunity to concentrate on writing the content and get rid of the distractions in the sidebars.

We’d love to hear from you so let us know what your favorite feature is in WordPress 3.2

Blogsite style websites have been in vogue for a good number of years now versus the original, more traditional static website. Although many static websites employ blogs now, it’s clear that a website revolving around the blog format is, in many ways, a better model and even one that is easier to maintain. The main difference between a blog style website and a static website is simply the manner in which the content is delivered.

We all would agree that every site needs great content.? And we would also all agree that the content needs to change frequently.? Updating your content frequently will help with your Search Engine rankings, and will help you become an expert in your field in your client or customers mind very quickly.

In today’s day and age, one would think it is common knowledge of the necessity of a web presence for a business whether it be large or small, corporate or mom and pop. The internet is the primary source of gathering information not only information in and of itself, but information regarding business. More and more shoppers and clients want to be able to preview their experience, get an idea of what it may entail, what selections are available, price ranges, and a general overall personality of not just the employees and owners, but of the entire business at hand.

A blogsite is necessary advertising today. Just as you wouldn’t imagine your business not having a phone, today it should be just as unimaginable to not have a blogsite. A business owner must look beyond their own perspective into the perspectives of their customers. It may be true you still flip through those thin yellow pages to find a phone number or gather information on who may be performing a service or selling that hard to find accessory, but fewer and fewer are doing so as each year passes on.
